Summary:
The aim of this study is to identify the reality of occupational health and safety management in emergency situations in industrial institutions, specifically in the TREFISOUD-El Eulma industrial institution. It emphasizes the importance of protecting the human element within the institution, considering it the most important and driving force, and protecting it from hazards, accidents, and occupational diseases in order to achieve the study's objectives and address the problem. The descriptive method was adopted to conduct a case study representing the TREFISOUD-El Eulma institution. The study found no significant differences between the theoretical part of this topic and its practical application, as the level of implementation of the occupational health and safety system is high, especially with the institution's commitment to implementing the ISO 18001 and 45001 systems. The institution integrated the system's requirements into its operations and activities.
The institution also conducts comprehensive daily monitoring of the workflow, along with adopting an emergency evacuation plan and conducting periodic simulations of emergency situations. This indicates the positive role played by the occupational health and safety system in preserving the workers, the institution, and the community as a whole.
